Day 10
Happy 9th birthday Alexis. I am wearing your bracelets so I carry a bit of you and Bree with me. The day started with a walk along Waiare road then through a corridor of farmland of Puketotara trust. They have large bull farms. The walking was so much easier today. I walked down Mangakaretu road then rejoined the farm land. The track also had us walk past a lovely waterfall, through some native and also some pine. I got my first glimps of the sea on the east coast and then Keri Keri. I crossed a swing bridge then walked under SH 10. I climbed over a lot of stiles today. The end was in sight. Just the Keri Keri river track to so. It was beautiful and I saw Rainbow falls and an old historic power station. I spoke with a Doc man who had seen me several days ago. I finally got to cross the bridge to the Keri Keri basin where Kemp house and the Stone store are. Gordon and Frances kindly picked me up. I did a bit of shopping, had a bath and washed all my clothes. The far north has been amazing. I think rubbish and roads are their two biggest issues along with poor internet. I have traveled over 200 km and the body is still holding up.
