Day 14
Yesterday I broke the 300 km point. I had an early start retracing my steps from the camp site to Kaikanui road. It was pleasant walking down the gravel road and later on a few farms appeared. I stopped to talk to a woman Sharon who was walking her dogs. I had to take a photo of the road sign - Pigs head road. I then turned on to Whananaki north road. Tarseal, windy and relatively busy. A kind man Graeme picked me up and took me the last 8 km to Whananaki Camp. I booked a cabin. Dried my tent, had a hot shower and did a bit of washing. A pie and a trumpet for a late lunch. Spent the rest of the day chilling and reading. Went for a walk to the foot bridge - 395m. It was built in the 1940's to allow kids from Whananaki south to walk to school. I was pleased to have an easier day.
