Day 2
It was an early start as I has fly camped and not a lot of water so breakfast was just a museli bar and a biscuit. Weather amazing. Warm but not too hot and no wind. I was trying to beat the tide as it was incoming and high at mid day. The beach is firm and good to walk on. The tide came in fast and I got caught a couple of times. Thankfully my poles saved me being washed over. I took to the sand dunes which was hard walking. Got to Maunganui Bluff and took a couple of hours to rest up have a hot coffee and let my feet breath. The wild horses visited us at the camp site. A french girl Ana also turned up. As the tide was dropping I filled up with heaps of water and did another 8 km. Saw a seal basking on the beach. Friday is a big day and I wanted to avoid the high tide. I did a sneaky camp in sand dunes again no water so a cold tea wraps with tuna.Bed really early. The waves really loud.
