Day 27
The day started crossing the over bridge over SH1 and the Waikato river then walking along the stop banks past a few goats some calves and some steers. The Huntly power station ion with it's tall stacks was the dominant feature. I walked along the Huntly golf course then along the road. I walked into Huntly and past Huntly College. It was the first school I taught in back in 1984. I crossed back over the Waikato on the foot bridge which is attached to the rail bridge. In to Huntly for a coffee and lunch. I was pleasantly surprised with Huntly township. Sure there was a bit of graffiti but overall the town was clean and busy. I walked over the over the over bridge that took me over the rail line and SW1 and to Robyn and Logans house. I had a lovely afternoon catching up with Robyn and Logan showed me his lawn mowing skills.
