Day 46

I left Bulls and walked over a bridge that took me over the Rangitikei river. The trail was on a combination of sealed and metal roads. Fortunately been a Saturday they were not too busy. I walked past parts of Ohakea airbase. I stopped at Mt Lees. It is a lovely spot and allows freedom camping. It was the home of Ormand Wilson who in the 1930's was our youngest MP. The grounds and gardens look a bit unloved though. I also stopped at Mt Briggs school for lunch. I saw a lot of lamb fattening on chicory. I was almost into Fielding when wouldn't you know it... rain. I put my coat on and didn't get too wet. I found a room at the Fielding Pub. My feet are pretty good after a day of road walking.
