Day 52

Johannes went with Dwight back to the farm for a couple of hours so it was a leisurely start hanging out with family. Johannes then dropped me off at Paraparaumu beach. We had a coffee and food then I was back to beach walking and Johannes had the long drive back to Rotoma's. Kapati island was the dominant land feature and the waves were gentle. Lots of Portuguese man or war or blue bottle jellyfish on the beach which made a pop as I stood on them. The tide was almost high so I had to walk on the concrete walk between the houses and beach to Raumati south. My feet must have got soft as I have blisters on my little toes again. I could see the South island on the horizon but too hazey for a photo. The trail then took me through Queen Elizabeth park which was just cycle paths through sand dunes. I took a cabin at the motor camp and it started to rain. Later on I walked into Paekakariki which is over 2 km from the camp. The end is insight and I will be home next week.
